Born in Brooklyn, raised in
Queens and aged in Nassau, I am an island dweller at
heart. I went away to Binghamton University after a year
battle with Ulcerative Colitis and have been in
remission ever since. I have always had two passions
in life; space and biology. Research-wise I was able to
put these topics together in my internship at MIT and my independent undergraduate
research. I have been a full time high school teacher
in the subjects of Regents Chemistry, Regents Biology
and Anatomy & Physiology at a private highschool
on long Island. I am currently enrolled in the PhD
program in molecular oncology an immunology at the NYU
School of Medicine and supported until August 2009
under the Pathology Department Training grant from the
National Cancer Institute.
Personally, I enjoy photography, outdoor pursuits and
curling up with a good book. I have an
extensive collection of Frank Herbert and Isaac Asimov
novels. To me science fiction explores the future and
all the possibilities that may or may not come to
fruition in the course of human existence. I am
re-acquireing a taste the finer things in life; video
games.
