As I sit in the ivory tower the events of the last year weigh heavily on me. Our economy is in shambles, unemployment is rampant and it looks like the status quo is forever changed. I say these things not because they have affected me directly (because they haven’t besides sales at every store in sight) but because they have affected those around me. Friends of mine have lost jobs, income, had to move and have been left destitute.

But for everyone this is a time to reinvent.

Things are no longer business as usual and I welcome the change. I only hope that we can pull ourselves (the world and the US) out of this calamity. And if not, we’re fucked.

And for my sake, I hope the turnaround happens by the time I actually enter the workforce.
