Born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens and aged in Nassau, I
am an island dweller at heart. I went away to Binghamton University after a year battle
with Ulcerative Colitis and have been in
remission ever since. I have always had two passions in
life; space and biology. Research-wise I was able to put
these topics together in my internship at MIT and my independent undergraduate
research. I am currently teaching Regents Chemistry,
Regents Biology and Anatomy & Physiology at a
private highschool on long Island. I plan on beginning
my PhD at The NYU School of Medicine in July 2007. In
December '06 I completed a Graduate Certification in
Biotechnology and am thinking seriously of pursuing a
future in that field.
Personally, I enjoy photography, outdoor pursuits and
curling up with a good book. I have an extensive
collection of Frank Herbert and Isaac Asimov novels. To
me science fiction explores the future and all the
possibilities that may or may not come to fruition in
the course of human existence. I am re-acquireing a
taste the finer things in life; video games. Because of
all the work I have been doing this hobby of mine has
fallen to the wayside and I am slowly building up my
skills again.
